Dosage

Dosage

Dosing CBD oil. How many drops of CBD oil should I take?

How should I take it?

CBD oil - CBD-containing product (mixed with hemp oil at Medihemp ready to consume due to the different concentrations) can be taken in the following ways:

  • dropped under the tongue (internally, swallowed)
  • taken in the mouth e.g.

The dosage of CBD oil in general is that no dosage is the same for everyone, each person is in a different state of health and therefore needs a different amount to balance the body.

How many drops should I take?

Different concentrations of CBD oil contain different amounts of CBD in 1 drop.

An example: 10ml of 5% CBD oil = 500mg CBD per bottle

A 10ml bottle contains an average of 320 drops so 1 drop of 5% CBD oil contains roughly 1.56mg CBD which is 6 in 4 drops,26mg CBD

then 10ml of 18% CBD oil = 1800mg CBD per bottle

A 10ml bottle contains an average of 320 drops so 1 drop of 18% CBD oil contains roughly 5.625mg CBD which 4 drops contain 22.5mg CBD.

The daily dosage is strictly defined, the 4 drops per day is printed on the packaging as recommended by the manufacturer and accepted by EFSA (European Food Safety Authority) as an indicative dose.

The dosage of CBD oil / CBD intake varies from person to person.

There is a simple reason for this: each person is different - and in different states of health, ( different states of their endocannabinoid system). The endocannabinoid system is very simply put a health / disease regulatory system in our body. If the body's endocannabinoid system is not functioning properly, the body's balance is upset and various diseases can easily develop. What does the endocannabinoid system regulate? Among other things, it regulates the nervous system, the proper functioning of the digestive system and the immune system. The full-spectrum CBD extract found in cannabis oil can help the body's endocannabinoid system to function healthily.

The amount of CBD ( therapeutic dose ) we need to find for ourselves. Every body is in a different state and needs a different amount of CBD dosage, this amount varies from individual to individual in mg, ranging from a few (2-5) milligrams to thousands of milligrams.

Experiments have shown that the general therapeutic dose range for CBD is:

0.1mg/kg body weight - 25mg/kg body weight.

Example: for an 80kg adult, it may be effective:

80x0.1mg = 8mg/day

but may require 80x25=2000mg/day.

This example also shows that there is a wide variation in daily dosage.

How to start

The therapeutic effect of the different cannabinoids in CBD oil can be described by the so-called bell curve.

What does the bell curve mean?

To put it very simply, increasing the amount of CBD in a drop of a given concentration in mg will produce a stronger therapeutic effect, but you will reach a point where the effect is no longer stronger and with further increases the effect will diminish.

If you are taking CBD for the first time, always start with a small amount! For a few weeks ( 1 - 3 weeks ), take it and observe the effects and your body's response. If necessary, increase the amount.

Cannabis compounds have what is called a dual action, small amounts of CBD are more likely to be stimulant and large amounts are sedating.

CBD (at normal doses) has no known side effects at present (some drug interactions may occur when taken with certain medications), but taking too much may be less effective than a moderate amount. According to the "happy medium", too much is not effective, nor is too little.

The active ingredients of CBD oil (cannabinoids) are fat-soluble and stored in the body. This is why a longer period of time is needed, because the body is "saturated" more slowly, and the effects are more slowly felt. This change cannot be achieved in just a few days, you have to wait longer and be patient. The "onset of the disease or change in body function" is slow, and we only notice the problem when it has a noticeable effect. CBD oil cannot "optimize" the body's function in a few days. Start taking CBD at a low dose, monitor your body's response, and if necessary gradually increase the dose until the desired effect is achieved.

In the case of chronic illness, CBD oil should be taken long-term. Many users use CBD for symptomatic treatment, so abandoning CBD use can lead to a return of symptoms.

Taking CBD often results in a rapid reduction in symptoms, but the body cannot recover as quickly, and time is needed to make lasting positive changes.

When we have empirically found the amount of CBD we need, we feel the positive effects. If these effects cease (even if we increase the dose), we have exceeded the amount we need.
The body's cannabinoid receptors become inoperable if too much cannabinoid is taken.

Start with a small dose, monitor the shouldering (follow it for 2-3 weeks) (no matter how small the shouldering) and if nothing happens, increase the intake.

If further increases do not have a positive effect, go back to the previous level.

There are severe cases where we don't have the time to experiment with this.

In such cases, we should start with the high amount and then watch the body's response.
